hi - i am an american who recieved her LLB from the university of nottingham (in england). i want to practice in america but i think a foreign LLB will prove to be no help to me. Would an LLM help me in finding a job in the USA (particularly California which is where i live).

also - what are the top LLM schools (any good ones in Cali)

I know someones like you...one is an American and another is British. Both have LLB from Britain. ( one of them is from Oxford but I am not sure which of them) And they both went for LLM in US.

One who is British got a job in British law firm ( new established firm which its establisher is British) during the last semester.

The one who is American got no offer to interview during the jon hunting period of the school(at the beginning of fall Spring semester) as she had to fight with those American with JDs....anyway I dont know how is her job hunting now. Probably already got job.

Just to share my opinion....if you are an American with just an US LLM...it means your grade must be very good or you must have something better than those Americans with JD....
