I have received admission to the following schools so far and not sure which is best to attend:
SMU - LLM Tax
Villanova - LLM tax
American University - LLM law and Government, (Concentration Tax)
I know I want to attend an LLM program this year, I know I want to end up in the DC Metro area and I know I want to try getting a job with B4, small - medium law firms or maybe teaching (at a law school or undergrad program).
Is it best to attend a school with a "tax program (like villanova and/or SMU)" or is it just as well to attend a school that offers a concentration in tax (American U)? The number and quality (type) of classes will be identical at either of the three schools (they all offer the same classes and require the same amount of credits to graduate).
Any helpful advice will be appreciated! Thanks!

stay away from American if you want to do tax because its not a real LLM in Tax. That leaves you with SMU and Villanova. SMU is far away from your target and SMU is known as a regional school. By process of elmination go to Villanova if you want your LLM in Tax, although breaking into the DC market will be hard given the presence of GTown Tax. Besides, Nova is only a couple hours away from DC.

**Meant to say "However, Nova is only couple hours from DC"

definitely do not go to American since it is not a true LLM in Tax.
Frankly, tax programs outside the top 3 (NYU, UF, GT) do not matter that much. you can still get a good education, but as far as marketability goes, an LLM in tax from other schools will not help you much. i would base your decision on geographics. villanova is closer to DC so that would probably be your best choice.
