Kris, thugh I appreciate your sense of humour in criticizing the States, and I think you raise valid points with regard to its racism as far as Islamophobia is concerned, I'm a bit baffled by the fact that you're going to Leiden? I'm not Indian and its just a presumption, but how well-known is Leiden to the rest of India? Isn't it a Bosch?(to use your phrase). Don't get me wrong, Leiden is a great institution and the Netherlands is probably less racist (though not without its share of problems in that regard), but why aren't you on your way to UoL, in line with your argument?
Advantage of studying llm in the US

Becuase I'm not Indian and don't plan on working in India any time soon...
In my future workplace - Europe - Leiden is as well known as any other big European university.
Kindly note that I did not suggest the poster apply to Leiden...

If you want to work in USA or India, any particular reason then why you want to do your LL.M from UK?
You would be better off doing your LL.M from a tier I Law School from USA.

Why not do a little research of your own. Look at the websites of the universities you would consider going to and then call them up and ask for the contact information of alumni. I would be very hesitant to trust the advice of some random anonymous people on the internet over actual alumni who have real experience.
On a side note, is it me or is almost every poster here just looking for someone to hand them the answer to all their questions and problems. Half the questions on this board could be easily answered with 5 minutes of research but people keep posting the same questions over and over again. Do some research people!!!

Well your questions dont really seem to show that, they just seem to ask for a yes or no answer to an overly simplistic question. What you need to do is first find the universities that offer a program that teaches the subject that you want. Then you have to evaluate the value of each of these programs in furthering your career. Look at their placement of foreign attorneys from your country and ask to speak to alumni to see how their experiences went. Then you and only you can determine whether the program is worth pursuing. The entire process of choosing a school cannot simply be summed up by asking is getting an LLM in the US worth it.

Oh how the ignorant love to believe America is some racist cesspool. Our immigration procedures are no more stringent than any other country who's suffered terrorist attacks. We're still an extremely tolerant and accepting people. I suspect some people are jealous. They need to make us faults we don't actually have so they can feel better about their own flawed countries. Pathetic. Ignorant may be a close second, but the word is pathetic.
The advice is good. We have a lot of people here, and we believe in providing quality education for our large population so there are a lot of good schools across this country. However, the advice is good, you should avoid those lesser known schools to get your money's worth. You'll still get a great education, but you won't be as employable outside the US. The one thing you will know for sure though is no matter where in the US you go to school you'll be welcomed and enjoy yourself.
