Congratulations. I am a JD student there now and it has been a great experience. Everyone is very friendly and it's generally not as competitive as other schools out there. There is a bar review every Thursday if you're into that kinda thing, and there is a party called Blackacre every Friday.

Hi xdude,

can you tell us if there is a time limit to accept the vanderbilt offer? I just wonder what to do if I receive an offer and yet don't know about the other universities I applied to...

Thanks,

Hi, xdude
I am also interested in Vanderbilt. Would you mind telling your credentials so I can assess my chance? I'm 22 from Thailand, GPA 3.5 from top two, 5 months fulltime work and 8 months trainee, TOEFL 98.

Congrats... I'm a current JD student in my second year at Vanderbilt but I'm friends with most of the LLM students that are here this year. They're a great group to hang out with and I plan on visiting a few of them when they return home next year. VULS sets aside funding for LLM students to go out to eat with JD students and other social events. I convinced a few of the guys to take a road trip down to Mardi Gras in New Orleans next month and am looking forward to it. A number of them are in my Corporations class with Jennifer Hill (U. Sydney Visiting Professor) and a few are in my International Environmental Law course taught by a former director of NOAA and the current chairman for the WWF (world wildlife federation, not the American wrestling organization!). I don't know how much interaction LLMs have with JDs at other schools, but at Vanderbilt there is a lot of overlap. Good luck to those making decisions on where to go... you can check out my posts (also under observationalist) on lawschooldiscussion.org and top-law-schools.com or ask me questions and I'll try to get back to you soon.
