I would like to share with you all that I have just received an e-mail informing me that I have been accepted to the LLM at Georgetown. I was very surprised since they stated that the decisions would be mailed on December 12th.

Anyway, I am very happy and still waiting for other universities.

I submitted it in the end of October (21st, I think) and did not use LSAC services.

I applied to the LLM General Studies. I was also surprised by the fact that they sent an e-mail.

But, as they said,

"We have mailed your admission letter along with some materials that we hope will be helpful to you as you make a decision about enrolling at Georgetown. As we realize it may take several days for these packets to reach you, we wanted to let you know now of your admission via e-mail. "

And what about deadline for appl. to Georgetown?

Well, I applied "Early Action", which was valid until November 21st (extended deadline), although I have submitted my application much earlier. Regular action is still open though (until March 1st, I think)

First of all, congratulations! I am sure Xmas will be much better after this... I was also admitted to Georgetown as well - in my case, to the LLM in Taxation. I also received an e-mail sent by FedEx confirming that the admissions package was on its way. Now I am a little bit worried about the deadlines for confirming whether we want to go there or not. Since they made it to so early, I hope they don´t set a deadline before the dates we should (in principle) receive the other acceptance letters (if any).

Congratulations as well! The first e-mail I received was from FedEx too, but I didn't know it was an admission package (it could be a rejection). But when I saw its weight, I was almost sure that I was admitted. A few hours later, the e-mail from Georgetown arrived. Regarding the deadline to secure the position, I am as worried as you are. Maybe they will tell us the date on the letter.

You bet I´m worried!... In any case, I guess I will receive the package tomorrow or maybe on Saturday (depends on how long it takes to arrive here in Spain). The first one who receives tells the other one the contents, ok?

I am sooo worry about my application. I also sent an aplication during early session. I beleive that I sent all my package on Nov 19. SO far, I just got the email stated that my application is completed and they will review my app. soon.

To boatkung: I don't think you have to be worried. Since you sent your application very close to the deadline, it is natural that they will take some more time to review it. Best wishes!

To ivanrabanillo: my package is expected to arrive on Monday, so I guess I'll have the first news. But as soon as it gets here, I will let you know of its contents.

Hi, I am afraid we will receive it more or less at the same time. I made the big mistake of indicating as my mailing address my home address, so (as I work in a 24/7 basis) I uncessfully tried to make FedEx deliver it at my workplace. Unfortunately, I will have to wait until Monday to see it... But don´t worry: as soon as I see it, I will send a short summary to you.

And answering to your question: I am applying to NYU, Columbia, Harvard and Michigan as well. I also intended to apply to Chicago and (eventually) to Northwestern, but since Georgetown was my option #2 (it has a great LLM in Taxation), it is a little bit pointless to do it now.

How about you? to what universities are you applying? And what is your main field of study?

Boatkung, have you checked the online application status check tool at Georgetown´s web page. If they reached a decision on your file, it should be displayed there. Regards
