Hello everyone,
I have been admitted to Berkeley and London School of Economics for the 2010 -11 LLM program. I would like to do corporate and financial law. But I just don't know which one to choose. Do you think an American LLM is really more prestigious and more helpful in terms of future employment opportunities in Europe? Any piece of advice is welcome on any aspect that could help me make a decision. Cécile
Admitted Berkeley / LSE

an american LL.M. has not more prestige than an european LL.M. from the LSA.
regarding your intended specialization, LSE is better than berkeley. berkeley would be the appropriate choice, if you want to go into IP law.

I work in corporate law and decided to choose Berkeley over other east coast schools (Columbia, Chicago, NYU). THe courses here are great and so is the life in the area. If you intend to practice law in the US, then come to a US school. For practicing in Europe, I can't give any opinion since I don't know how the market sees the matter there...
