Hello and welcome to Duke! It's gonna be a great experience for you. I am now doing SJD at Duke. Feel free to drop me messages if you have Qs.
As for job prospective, I think it highly depends on where you are from and what your past experience look like. It's more case by case. Please bear in minds that the current job market is EXTREMELY difficult.
Good luck folks!

I have also been admitted to the LLM Program!
It's a great start for my applications, and I hope to be admitted in some other good law schools:)

Regarding SJD at Duke, what are the probabilities of starting a SJD at Duke for a person who has done (or would do) LLM in England, having done LLB in another common law jurisdiction. If the quantitative and qualitative criteria were to be met and were equal (in case of equally placed candidates), what role would the jurisdiction and college of prior education play in the whole selection process?
I know the question is a bit vague and depends on many generalisations, still I would like to know your perspective since you are there and have been through the same selection process. You might find it useful while answering my query: my area of concern would be comparative analysis of different tax regimes, especially in cross-border context.

congratulations, isradv and other admitted people!
I have a question~
Is there any place that I can check my status on the web site?
Actually, I received an email that my application was completed but I wanna check my process.
For example, cornell law offers the status check on their web site.
isradv~ do you have any idea where I can check my status on the web site?

As far as I know, there isn't any option over the web site for "status check", I know about the status check option on Cornell's web site.
BTW - I will decline Duke's offer... so there will be one more place open there.
Good Luck!

I just got the official letter, which calls me for paying a $500 deposit to save myself a spot in their class before 2/9...what should I do? I mean, I'm still waiting for 7 other unis, all ranked better than Duke. I was wondering if paying a deposit is worthing, since I got no scholarship from Duke...please share your thoughts. thanks to all!

Why don't you ask them for more time to think about their offer?
It's sounds like you don't realy like the idea of going to Duke, am I right?

sounds a little weird to say (or write), but Duke isn't my target honestly...paying a deposit when I'm very likely to hear from schools like NWU or Chicago very soon, looks like a waste of money to me. on the other hand, although I feel I'll have many schools from which to choose, so long I'm only sure about Duke...

So why don't you ask for more time? I think they will grant you a few more weeks.

Ask for more time. I did so and got an extended delay to decide on acceptance. :)

may I ask whether you got any scholarship from Duke? I'm just interested in knowing about merit-based scholarships...thanks!

I must admit that I haven't even applied for financial assistance. Major error by my side but I was too tired of the whole application process after 10+ universities in US/UK >_

I'm in the same shoes unfortunately...
