also, for current 3Ls, has anyone received an email asking for fall semester grades? ive heard rumors of this (im not a current 3L).
ive got to believe such a statement is a good sign - unless, of course, all 3L applicants received the message.

Andone: I have not received any communications from them about grades or otherwise. When I asked them about sending in a fall term transcript last week their response was typically noncommittal: "sure, if you want to." But, at that point they stated that they had not yet begun reviewing domestic applications for the Tax LLM.

I went complete in October and have not heard a thing from the school, including no request for fall 2008 grades.

I submitted a complete application the last week of November, graduated in December (#1) but from a low-T school.
This past Monday I was asked to submit an official transcript including my Fall 2008 grades. I'm not sure how to read that request, but I hope it's a good sign.

My app was complete by Dec. 1st, I JUST received an email from NYU on Friday stating my application was complete and that my application was under review. No request for Fall Grades.

Just to let you guys know -- I didn't get my NYU acceptance until late March (maybe even early April). I am non-tax (Trade Reg/IP) but I'm not sure if that would make that big of a difference.

I was accepted last year and didn't find out until the end of Feb.

Did you receive an e-mail similar to the one posted above -- the one from NYU asking for fall semester grades?
Posted Feb 09, 2009 23:32
No I did not, just one stating that my application was complete and under review.

Got the email today. Top 10, GPA 3.49. Application complete 10/10/08.
Good luck everyone!

I received an acceptance letter from NYU today for the Tax LLM program. I'm a domestic student from a tier 3 law school, top 5%, and 3.72 G.P.A. My application went complete mid November. Good luck to all.

Are they sending out an email concerning acceptance or a letter in the mail? Thanks for the insight.
Posted Feb 10, 2009 22:21
I received an e-mail with a link to an acceptance letter. The letter stated, however, that an official acceptance letter was in the mail. Good luck.

NYU asked for my fall grades about a week ago. Graduated #2 in Dec. from a shit school (Not Cooley).

Sorry about getting really detailed......but did you get an email from NYU prior letting you know your application was complete? Or did they just ask for your fall grades without that email?
Posted Feb 11, 2009 01:50
I received a confirmation email that it was complete within 2 weeks of sending everything in. That was back in Nov. - Dec. But, I did harass them by email before I got it.

Do you admitted students have access to the admitted students site?

I got a "complete" status on my application, yesterday, February 11, 2009 for NYU. I got accepted to Northwestern on February 12, 2009.
I am not sure what my chances of getting into NYU will be this late in the process. My application for UF was complete a week before NYU, and my application for Georgetown will be complete February 16, 2009, at the earliest. (Letter of recommendation was missing).
