I know that they do consider all around experience (tax work, VITA, etc.) but no tax experience is required for admissions other than the basic tax class required for enrollment.

Hi,

Some Schools mention that they are looking for applicants with prior experience in the relevant field i.e. tax. There are also a few Schools which do not require such exp.

I am applying to MC Law. Is there a word limit for the Statement of Purpose. I searched on the School site but did not see any specific requirement.

Congratulations Go4Tax, mfrop, & cpa123 on your acceptance! Will you please share a profile with others on this board? E.g., where did you do your JD (or at least the school rank), what was your GPA, class rank, how did you do in your Tax classes, when did you get your JD, do you have any work experience and in what discipline, have you applied anywhere else, are you accepting GULC or waiting to hear from another school, etc.?

It really helps others to get an idea of who is being accepted. Doing Early Admissions definitely is the way to maximize your chances.

I just found out that Georgetown has a NEW Executive LLM in Tax! It begins in Fall 2014 and can be completed entirely through distance learning. Students "sit in" remotely on the identical classes that in-person students take.

I've heard that when Georgetown creates a new Certificate program, they are more liberal with their admissions into the new program--they want to fill up the seats and show that it is successful. They may be the same way with the Executive LLM.

They have extended the application deadline to June 30, 2014 for the Executive LLM in Taxation.
