Hi All,
Just wondered what peoples opinions were on my situation. I am hoping to apply for an LLM at Cardiff, Sussex and Exeter in the next few months. Sussex and Exeter ask for a 2:1, Cardiff a 2:2.
During the first 2 years of my undergrad LLB I was suffering from personal and health problems, which my uni was aware of, and as such my grade average is 56%. I took time out from uni for 1 year, withdrew from the meds I was on and am due to start my final year in a few weeks. My tutors believe that I am more than capable of achieving a strong 2:1 overall. They will mention my extenuating circmstances in any references they write and I will obviously talk about my drive and determination in my ps.
Do you think I have a chance at receiving an offer from Sussex and Exeter?
Any opinions would be welcomed, I have been worrying about this for weeks now!!
Thanks in advance
Nicki

I think if you can show your other strong and appealing points in your SOP and in other application materials you will be fine. Anyway your LLB grades are satisfactory for the most of the schools which you are going to apply for. Do your best and good luck!

I also think you really stand a chance, specially because you had a medical condition,,its not your fault,,everybody has situation in their lives that affect their studies or work performance
just make sure they mention this in your recommendation letter or simply write a great letter for you!
but you have to make sure then to indicate in your personal statement why you didnt score a higher grade! i dont think it would be a problem!
good luck and i wish you the best :)
