Work experience for LSE/Oxford?

AAravam

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for an LLM in Oxford/Cambridge/LSE. I was wondering how important work experience is to these colleges. Do they require internships with big/well-known firms?

I'm averaging around 73% in a leading law school in my country (India). I have a couple of international moots and paper publications under my belt. My work experience, however, is next to zero.

So should I buck up in the remaining time and go on an internship spree or something? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I think that these universities tend to value much more one's academic background than one's working experience. So you really shoudn't worry about that. Best of luck.

Agreed. I don't think lacking work experience will make your application unacceptable, assuming you meet the academic standard for admission from your country.

Edited for grammar.

Acads are most important, especially for Oxford. LSE asked me for a GPA of 9 in the conditional offer. Even i'm from India... have moots, publications, grades and internships... no full time work-ex. Passed out this year. Got through both Oxford and LSE.
