UCL vs LEUVEN

Hi. I´ve been admitted to the LLM of UCL and of K.U LEUVEN and would like to know your thoughts on which LLM is better. I´m interested mainly in international business law and finance law, with aspirations to get a job in Europe after finishing the LLM (I come from a non EU country).

Thanks! Cheers.

Hi, I'm a graduate student at the K.U.Leuven... So I might be able to answer questions you have about the K.U.L. I don't know much about the LLM of Leuven, but I certainly know quite a lot about the city and of life at university there.

I will be reading for the LL.M degree at UCL from September onwards... So I can't help you choose between the KUL and UCL...

The LLM in International Business Law at UCL (comprising courses like Legal aspects of International Finance, International and Comparative Secured Transactions, Insolvency Law, International Business Transactions, etc) is one of the better taught modules of the UCL LL.M. Because of the practical nature of these courses, lecturers include both UCL Professors and practitioners fro leading Law Frims. Eg. Secured Transactions is taught by Profs Michael Bridge (of UCL), Frederique Dahan (Senior Legal Counsel of EBRD),Richard Calner (Partner at Norton Rose) and Ron Harmer (practitioner from New Zealand).
International Finance is taught by Prof Graham Penn (Partner at Austin Sidley), Philip Rawlings (of UCL).
Multiple examples of this nature abound. UCL is also in London - the centre of International Finance.
I dont know what the Leuven programme is like but hope this picture of UCL aids you in making a decision.
