UCL - 2 months and still no news

I called and e-mailed - they keep saying a reply will come soon. They law department had not even received the application from general admissions until a month after submitting it.

Personally, as I have taken up another offer with a scholarship, I am not as bothered, but rather curious as to the outcome out of interest more than anything else really.

Same here...

I applied early enough. Beginning of March. That is early. Plus I applied for the part time programme. In any case, I have decided on another place!!!

I applied end of February and received confirmation from the system that my application would be submitted... beginning of April rolls around... after I email they tell me that they **never** received my application- it FINALLY goes through sometime soon after. They told me I would receive a response by today, and whadda ya know, NOTHING.

I'm getting a little cranky about this whole thing.

Admissions are inundated right now; this situation does not reflect at all on the quality of teaching.

Oh my gosh! What made you do that?
I applied end of February and there was no response, but a mail saying that I will hear by end of April. Eventually when there was no response till the end of the first week of May I called them. Said I was rejected and the letter sent on 29th April. To date I havent got that letter. At least that helped me to decide to go to QMUL and a closure of the whole process as others here in the board posts have indicated.
But withdrawing was bever an option though

Looks like I too have to withdraw my application; Atleast 1 application less for them :) Withdrawing is much better than this frustration... N neways I have finalized on another Univ... Cant wait forever as getting admission is not everything, so many other things to be done like Visa, loan etc etc :)
Peace... :)

@Nadija - I have decided to go to the University of Chicago, that was my first choice and they have provided ample financial support, so even if I got in to UCL, I would not have taken the offer and so the frustrating anticipation would have all been for nothing.

Someone I know from UCL law faculty also advised me that it is better to withdraw if I don't intend to attend as they have one less application to review and they can offer that place to someone else.

Yeah, thats rights. On the other hand if you have financial support at UChicago, there is no point in pursuing the UCL application.
All the best for you at Chicago! :-)

Hi,

for those of you who are still waiting, my experience with UCL is following:

My complete paper application was received on March 11. On April 26 I received an email acknowledging the application saying I will receive the decision by June 4. But eventually they were faster and I received the offer by email on May 20.

Hope this helps.

I applied March 22 and still haven't gotten the email telling me when I can expect a result to my application. I called the admissions office twice and apparently my application has been forwarded to the Law School. Do you guys think I should contact the Law School directly? Thanks!!

I'd contact the law faculty directly. They are the ones who'll review your application. If you're successful, then they'll pass it on to admissions.

Yes, do that. That is the best way to find out. I know how awful the 'waiting' is..

Thanks guys! I just called them and the lady remembered my application number as I had emailed them last week. Apparently the admissions office had not sent all my supporting doucments and the law school cannot print them out from their computers as they do not have access to the admissions data base. What a weird system! She said that my application will have priority as soon as they get all the documents and I'll hopefully hear back from them next week. Fingers crossed!
