Hi!
Next year I am doing my LL.M at UCL... I am currently budgeting but I'm having a hard time doing so 'cause I don't know what is the real cost of living in London!!!
Could any one please help me with how much should I expect to spend on:
1. a decent meal (lunch/dinner)?
2. one night out to a local pub (entertainment)?
3. books and copies?
Thanks!

you will need about 1000 pounds per month for living in london, only living expenses.

Don't know if helps, but Time Out does a student guide to London, which is available on its website. It might give you an idea of prices.

It's impossible to answer this really as everyone has different living standards - it depends if you want to rough it or not.
As a v. rough estimate:
1. 10-15 pounds at an average restaurant (unless you go for a fastfood option 3-5 pounds, or 3-5 in a uni canteen).
2. 20 pounds - at least.
3. This can be huge. Uni's are a real rip-off on the photocoying front. For core texts, factor in about 500 pounds for the whole year.
I would say give yourself a 100/150 a week for expenses (exc. rent).
Unless you desperately want to go to London for a specialised course - it's best to go to somewhere outside London you'll have a much nicer time.
