Earlier this morning I received an e-mail with a conditional offer for the MCL program at Cambridge. As you can imagine, I was very pleased to read the letter :)

My BGS status has changed from "under consideration" to "awaiting decision".

Guys/Gals, can anyone tell me if there is a standard deadline to accept an offer from the date it is made (for ex. 1 month) or if this is individual? Thanks!

From what I read in the thread for last year's round, it seems as if you do not have to answer before the summer. So even though Cambridge is not the quickest school in terms of decisions, they at least give you quite some time to consider the offer.

Regarding calling Cambridge - dont you all think that it would be a great idea to not call them and just wait for the decision e-mail? I know that you are all stressed, but lets just give Cambridge some space so they can use their time on other things.

Oh, by the way, the next weeks will be nerve-wracking. It is worse than waiting for the grades in law school.

I, too, believe that calling is rubbish unless you are dependent on your decision, e.g. in case of other deadlines.

Congratulations! I got an offer for MCL this afternoon. Seems like the MCL decisions are out before most of the LLM offers..

My CamSys status changed today from "Under Consideration by Degree Committee" to "Awaiting decision by the Board of Graduate Studies", Hitting the "View/Amend" button, it says "Status: The degree committee is satisfied with your application. However, your offer has not yet been approved".

So, what does that mean? Offer? No offer? I'm confused. Has anyone else got that kind of status report?

It says on the website that the DC first makes a recommendation to the BoG, and then the BoG makes the official offer of admission. I guess you can expect good news :)

I am just confused as the ones which were admitted already said that their camsys status had not changed before they got the offer per e-mail. Seems like I'll have to do an extra rounds at every stage: first the thing with the phone call to the recommender and now this. I won't complain, though, if everything works out fine... :-)

Ah, sorry, I think I forgot to clarify that. I have not got any e-mail, which is exactly why I am not quite sure what to make from the situation... I guess I'll stay optimistic. :-)
