hi everyone
i am from delhi. i would be pursuing my llm from soas this september. i wanted to get in touch with people from india, especially delhi who would also be leaving for soas this year.
moreover i wanted to get in touch with current or past students from soas who have pursued an llm in Human rights. Can anyone suggest me which are the best Human rights courses offered at soas?

Hi Nila,
Am from India (Chennai) and am joining soas in sept.2005. have you arranged for accomodation? i hear that paul robinson and dinwiddy are full. do u think its a good idea for a student to rent out a small room with a ktichnette for a year ? btw, have u heard of soas' strengths in the llm programme. do u plan to take course from ucl/kcl?

Hi Nilu
In answer to your question, there are a number of human rights courses on the london llm. Human rights in the developing world is supposed to be an interesting course - the class is relatively small and the discussions lively. The comparative human rights course is also supposed to be excellent. I did International Protection of Human Rights when I studied at UoL last year. The subject-matter was fascinating, but the lecturers ranged from very good to appalling. The class is also huge so there's very little opportunity to discuss issues in detail. Still, if you're a self-motivated student and don't feel the need to rely on your lecturers then I'd still recommend it.
Hope that's of some help.
Best of luck
