Is anyone having second thoughts about going? I get nervous thinking about it...and sometimes wonder if I should spend the $ going. I would love to live in London and I think the course would be very interesting (I am going to Queen Mary to get my LLM, focusing on Int'l Law). And I intend to use my time there to come back to the US and talk about how my experience might be beneficial at a int'l law trade firm or perhaps working for a government institution, NGO, etc. But I am getting kind of scared of going to a foreign country on my own, and having never visited it (never been to UK!) The more I think about leaving, the more I start to think how I'll miss my home, my friends, even my job believe it or not :) I start to get a little worried I'll be homesick....Anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?
Second Thoughts?

Ahhhh, lawchick, don't worry. You'll be fine. Just traveler's nerves. You're allowed to have them, it's a big move you're making. What ever you do, don't be concerned that you are feeling like this, and just go ahead with your plans. The nerves will soon be replaced by wonder and excitement.
My sister-in-law was the biggest home-bird I knew, but she hasn't been in Scotland for well over a year (she is working in New Zealand). With a good phone card, or better yet, a good Internet connection, she's on the phone to my wife as much as she ever was when she lived only a few miles away!
And not to forget digital cameras and email. I feel like I have been round New Zealand three times with the number of photo's she has sent over.
Good luck, and have fun!

Colin's right, don't worry. Hey, you've so many people to meet in London already, think about the party/pub crawl ;-)

Thanks you all....I am trying to stick with this, just need a place to live. Someone recommended www.moveflat.co.uk to me, it's a great website. I just started looking on it, so nothing yet. Has anyone tried that site to look for private housing?
Anyway, I hope I can make this work, get my loans, get my flat, get my visa, all in time...it would be great to see you all there :)

Have you tried the Halls at Queen Mary?
They are quite good.

Check out www.gumtree.com - the shared flat section. A friend of mine found a very nice room (quite pricey, but OK for London) through that site.
Good luck
