Hello,
I'm interested in doing an LL.M. in Oil and Gas Law at the University of Aberdeen but I notice there're 2 choices between doing dissertation and professional skills.
I have read about this matter from various sources but i did not find the information much. I think it would be a better idea if I directly ask someone from the inside by myself. So, I would like to ask about the major differences between them and other advantages/disadvantages of doing dissertation and professional skills because I find the tuition fees are quite different as joining professional skills seems to be more costly but I believe I would get the benefit from it more than doing dissertation. (I would have to opportunities to practice my legal skills. please correct me if I was mistaken)
I'm interested in doing this programme but as I come from Thailand, I am not quite sure that it would suits me best as Thailand is not a country full of oil and gas so the jobs provided in this areas could be hard to be found. However, I do hope to join in the international law firms or work for the international companies concerning oil and gas. Thus, I want my further education to be specialized in oil and gas law. If you would tell me what careers that people who graduated with this specialized LLM could do, it would help me enormously.
p.s. Actually, I have just had a conditional offer from Aberdeen for doing LL.M. in International commercial Law but I would like to apply for the oil and gas law as well. I truly believe that your explanation would help me decide on which one I would like to do most.
Thank you so much in advance for your help and Have a nice day!
