Hello Everyone,
I received offers from Queen Mary University of London (LLM in International Business Law Program) and the University of Edinburgh (LLM in Commercial Law). Both offers are unconditional, however QMUL requires that I take an in-sessional English course.
Please help me decide, because I cannot make up my mind.
Thx,
Marcvs

I would go to Edinburgh. From a latin america perspective. I am thinking about applying to a LLM degree next year, and Edinburgh is one of the unis I am thinking about. Commercial law there is very good. And you would not run the risk of not passing the in-sessional English course.

I'd go for the Burgh' ! It has a better reputation worldwide- and I always have the feeling QM (despite being a very good university!) lives in the shadow of the other London Unis...

True that is very true...!! QMUL is over-ranked i feel...!! It fires from the shoulders of London sisters...!! I think City University offers much more beatufiul and career orientated courses than QMUL...! and the administration department of QMUL should be ranked beyond 100th...!!
They don't reply to emails for 4-5 weeks....and it the only University apart from Oxbrige which takes 3 months to send a response to applicants...!!
Come on...get really...QMUL is not even close to Oxbrige in any of the ways.....(not even in anyones dreams)

Thanks for Your responses.
Legal_India, I know that you have bad experience with the QMUL's admissions office (I read your other posts). In my case they acted in a very expeditous manner. They responded to my e-mails very quickly (i.e. from 2h to 2 days). Actually, I received QMUL's response ealier than UoE's response.
I think that the most important factor is the quality of education and reputation of the university. The issue of administration is not essential for me.

I would concur with the others about Edinburgh. If you really want to know about the programme, go to the source. The past students and the current lecturers. Laura McGregor, Parker Hood and David Cabrelli, to name a few who lecture in the field, are all phenomenal academics and people. There is also the Edinburgh centre for Commercial Law http://www.law.ed.ac.uk/centreforcommerciallaw/
which brings many out-of-class opportunities to the school, which can only make your education much more fruitful. Best of luck!

I think I have been the unfortunate soul of the year in case of receive quick responses from QMUL.....but you never know delayed response can be good response (somtimes)...lol..!
But i would still prefer Edinburgh anyday
