Queen Mary- LLB

USAN'UK

Hello, you all know my story. So, I've recieved offers from Queen mary to sit for their 2 year graduate entry LLB program. But, I am hesitant to take up this place, due to the fact that I am concerned about job prospects after I graduate. I know that being an American will put my at a disadvantage when it comes to trying to secure employment at, say a firm, in the UK. But, I am concerned that if I do decided to do the 2 year program at Queen Mary, that if I wanted to come back to the states to get a job that I will be unable to do so. Any, ideas, comments, thaughts? Ideas about Queen Mary, is it a good school? I would be a mature student, so I am not sure whether or not I would fit in with the age group of the students at the school, being as it is an undergraduate degree?? Any comments, ideas, suggesstions, would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch!!

Hi

I'm from Delhi, India. I don't know much about the job markets in US and UK but if you're from the US why do you wanna do your LLB in UK? Why not apply to the US colleges itself?

Just a thought.

Cheers

One day I would like to practice law in the UK. Also, if that doesn't work, aren't I able to come back to the states and juget get an LLM in American law, if I want to practice in D.C. or New York?

Would I have to take a US master in american law, beofre I can sit for the NY Bar? Also, am I able to sit for the bar in washington d.c.? Furthermore, would I be able to complete "internships," or something like a vacation scheme, while I am in England in order to gain expierence at a law firm? Does my american citizen deter that as an option?

tanks for all the help!!

How does Queen Mary rate compared to the other colleges in London? I read that Queen Mary is rateed high for graduate salaries, is this true.

My conclusion: I have decided to go to Queen Mary, study for my LLB, then come back to the states and get my J.D. Both degrees may or may not help me, but you only live once. Thanks to all that have given me v. good advice and warnings as well.
