QLTS x LLM

What is the best thing to do if you are a foreign lawyer who wants to work in the UK as a solicitor? Do an LLM first and then take the QLTS exam or the other way around? I ask that because most people I know did an LLM first, which helped them to get a job - even as a paralegal, and because some people say that you should just take the QLTS exam if you are already working in the field and if your job pays for it.
