I am posting again, with the hopes that someone will help out with the following inquiries...

Does anyone know what the ideal dates are for applying to a PhD--how many months in advance? Specifically, has anyone have any idea regarding this question concerning the LSE (ie for entry in 2011, would sending in a research proposal by November 2010 be early enough)?

Furthermore, how many months in advance should potential supervisers be contacted (ie for 2011 end of year entry, would contact as of July 2010 suffice)?
