hiive recieved admission into petroleum law and policy at Dundee CEPMLP and at Kings, LSE for corporate law (governance to be precise).I am interested in both these subjects. But is going to Dundee worth it when i can live in london?Dundee iis not too well known a university while kings and LSE are. on the flip side dundee CEPMLP is known for energy. I am concerned about the future prospects because most lawyers say they prefer to join Kings or LSE simply because of the name. Although Dundee is known for this program and the niche market would love a grad from there. Can anyone please guide me in this decision. Please tell me about the quality of the programs, the future prospects, anything that could make me decide on one of these universities. Thanks
petroleum law and policy at dundee CEPMLP or corporate law at Kings/LSE

I would say Aberdeen uni.
The Uni is at the top of the rankings and its LLM in oil and gas law is one of the best programme in this area.
Aberdeen is the european capital of energy.....the place to be for it!

Dear Pinochio,
Your choice should really depend what you wish to specialise in and your priorities as a LLM student. Do you wish to pursue a career in the energy sector or corporate law and governance?
CEPMLP's uses a real life approach in our degree programme by studying past, current and future issues facing the sector.
Our academic staff are also practitioners and are often approached by international companies and governments for advisory and consultancy work. In 2006, ESRC selected CEPMLP to advise the ESRC on future potential research priorities in the field of security of international oil and gas supply. We also have a global faculty comprising distinguished academics and industry professionals who come to CEPMLP teach specific modules. http://www.dundee.ac.uk/cepmlp/staff/staff_global.php

Does anyone know how are admissions to Dundee Energy Law going?
I just applied and I'm affraid being too late.
I really appreciate if someone could tell me how many places do they usually have and if it is going to be too difficult to get an offer to next fall if you just apply now.
How long does it take to get an answer?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hello Jilo,
CEPMLP's application deadline for the academic year 2009/2010 is 31 March 2009. You should receive your reply soon.
CEPMLP runs two intakes a year - in September and January. If you are unsuccessful in your application for September 2009, you may wish to consider January 2010.
