Oxford MJur+BCL 2015-2016

Do MJur decisions get released first, then? I was under the impression that BCL decisions were due "on or after 13th March"...

That's what the website says. I just guessed early in the week because in previous threads people seemed to start hearing on Monday/Tuesday. That could of course mean that we're more likely to hear the 16th/17th...

Has anyone asked admissions?

I called up admissions yesterday. They told me that we would get to hear from them after the 15th of this month. So I am assuming that we would get to know about the outcome of our applications on the 16th or 17th perhaps.

Strange that they gave you a sunday date! But this is very good to know, thank you for the info.

They said after the 15th which means after Sunday. Let's hope we get to hear from them soon!

The application tracker shows that someone from Prague has been admitted into the MJur program. Has anyone else received a decision for either program?

It looks like that person was actually admitted last year.

That would probably be me... -> sorry for the confusion guys! I just logged in after a year and updated my profile. I'm a current MJur student and I'm now waiting for the result of my MPhil application, so I came to have a look whether the offers have already started circulating. Good luck, everyone! (And feel free to ask if you have any questions about the BCL/MJur...)

Hi suinka89! I am a current applicant for Mjur for which I don't have a very high expectation of getting in. If I failed in my application to Mjur then maybe I would go for a LLM in UCL. And I wish to know after a LLM in UCL, what's the chance to get in a Mphil in Oxford? Many thx!!

Hi sxjixinlicha, first of all, don't give up just yet and wait for your result: you may still get in! (Fingers crossed!) As for the MPhil, I'm afraid it's only open to students who have done the BCL/MJur degree at Oxford, not to external applicants. But you can always apply for the DPhil directly - the only thing it takes is a great proposal that will be attractive for one of the professors (therefore, it is always a good idea to start thinking about this early and get in touch with your potential supervisor(s), so that by the time you submit your application, you know whether there is someone who will endorse you internally.) In the end, there is not too much difference between the MPhil and the first year of a DPhil...

Hey tigers,

I am a student of the Master programme at the Comenius University, Faculty of Law in Bratislava, Slovak Republic (I am clearly convinced that probably none of you have had ever heard about it, so pray do not worry about that).

I am thinking about applying for the Oxon MJur and the Cantab. LLM Programme (I would rather use the word dream, but nevertheless)

I´ve graduated with a 1:1 (or a pretty similar equivalent) in Law (LLB) and I am expecting to get the same degree at the end of my Master Studies. Given the rankings of our University a surprising number of students have previously been offered a place at the Oxbridge and Ivy League schools as well. I did my Erasmus at the University of Vienna, too, therefore my command of English and German is quite on equal terms along with some French to add to the mix.
My personal working experience includes a four-month internship at Allen & Overy Slovakia and a six-month paralegal job at an international law firm with its main seat in Germany. I did work during this summer as a student clerk at a District Court, too.
I am also planning to do an internship at a rather important governmental agency and have undertook several extracurricular activities, such as participating in a one - year education programme in politics and public Service, qualified as a runner - up at the National Negotiation Competition and worked as a deputy editor with the university magazine. I am still expecting to improve my credentials a little bit further for I still have some time. Thanks for the feedback and the best of luck in your future kids !

I'm pretty sure that in previous years notification has just been via email.

I'm pretty resigned to receiving a rejection but, even so, this wait is absolutely ridiculous; it is killing me!

Good luck to you all.
