Oxford BCL/MJur 2018-2019 Applicants

LegalSocra...

I just spoke with Oxford now, they just told me that by the end of today, ALL APPLICANTS will receive their application statuses. Good luck mates, not holding my thumbs on my application.

I can't get through to them, which number did you use? And what time is the end of the day?? 5-6pm??? Or they gonna torture us till midnight??

I used this number (+44) 0 1865 270000. The lady was very nice, i was on the line for a long time as she said she was confirming with the Admissions Director. She then came back on the line and said "...by end of today..." - my sense would be that "end of today" means before they leave the office to go have fun or sleep or whatever these people do after torturing us.

As long there's no answer, there's hope.

In my case, I received my Mjur rejection email at 17:07 UK Time.

The best for the ones who get an offer!!!

I mention this not to gloat, but for the benefit of future applicants who will be reading this thread to gain an insight into the results process for the next round of apps.

I received a conditional offer for the BCL at 16:51 (UK Time), Friday 16th March. Offers began being rolled out on Weds 14th March, and around about after my offer, it seems rejections began being rolled out. Further, based on info from this forum and my UK friends, it seems as though international offers were rolled out first, and UK offers only started being rolled out on Friday.

Thus if you are a UK student approaching 5pm on a Friday next year, do not despair completely as there is still hope. I think they literally left me to the very end, I'm not sure why, my initials are very high up on the alphabet. It maybe because I submitted my BCL app at 3am on the deadline, so maybe they do the order like that.

Good luck to the people still waiting, and good luck to future apps. Also I look forward to meeting all of you offer holders later this year. Some of you have great banter, and as weird as it sounds, I feel I have developed a strange bond with you all. It maybe induced by the shared experience of torture, refreshing our email inboxes (and this forum) every minute for the past 5 days!! What an emotional roller-coaster.
