Even though the deadline is several months away (January 19), I wanted to start a discussion so that everybody who is applying to the Oxford BCL/MJur can connect.
Please post your thoughts / questions about the applications, and any updates on decisions, although those are still some time away I'd imagine!

Thought it would be useful to resurrect the post. Any BCL applicants?

Yeah. Applied on the 18th of January and just got an email confirmation that the application was ready for assessment.
Now for the long 8 weeks!

What did you apply for? I applied for the MJur on January 14 and my status reads "Ready for assessment in January Deadline".

And are you sure that the referees have submitted their references? You can check that on the app portal. Alternatively give the admissions office a call :)

Yes I applied on the 18th of January also and my application still says “submitted but not processed” and I know that my references have been submitted. I don’t know if I should call the admissions office....

Well you have nothing to lose, it's not like it will be detrimental towards your application if you ask, plus don't forget that you've paid money for the application - which is quite a lot. So it's not like they're assessing your application for free. You've paid for a service and you are expected to benefit from it at its best.
You can say that I was told that I'll get an automatic email once all the documents have been submitted to confirm that I'm ready for the January assessment, but currently the status hasn't been changed. Could you please shed some light here etc, I'm unsure if there's an IT glitch or whatever.

I was going to call the admissions office today but I just received an e-mail saying that my application is now ready for assessment.

Anyone has received any news? Since Cambridge already made its decisions, I was wondering if Oxford would start doing the same.

No news yet from Oxford.
Their decisions are typically made 8 weeks from the deadline of application.
So that means decisions are expected around Mid March for Oxford.
Last years decisions were issued on 14th- 15th March, as I was informed by a colleague.
I hope that helps.

"How do you deal with it?"
Concentrate on other things and other people. Be alive to each day. And then the moment will arrive suddenly: you will know how your application went.

Do you guys think that Brexit has had or will have any influence on the number of admissions or the number of applications (e.g. from european countries)?

Doubt that. If you refer to the BCL it's quite irrelevant because their legal background is N/A, unless we speak for the MJur or students from the continent who are studying/finished in the UK.
If you speak about the fees... that's another point :)
