Hey
Got an email from Cambridge today asking for a letter from one of my recommenders - for some reason it didnt reach them first time round - is this a good sign?
Would they not just have rejected my applcation if it was weak? Perhaps its borderline?
UK student here.
Any comments welcome.

There is another interesting point that I wish to make here. Some people have already stated the fact about increased number of applications at Oxbridge this year.
As far as Indians are concerned, there seems to have been a two-fold increase in the number of applications. This comes from discussions across the board with people from various universities.
If it doesn't have any impact on the chances, this only shows that it is going to take a bit longer for us Indians to hear (except for the exceptionals)..
A couple of people have recieved their rejections from Cambridge. Apparently they had worked for a couple of years but had low grades. So, another moral (finally proved).. work-ex (unless it has strong academic links) does not make up for really low scores as far as Oxbridge are concerned.
How do u know about the rejections ?

Thats how things work... Offers to exceptionals had to come along with culling of weak applications... So someone had to get the wrong side of the stick too...
Hope u get the right side of the stick ;)

Hi !
I believe its an academic honour awarded to the best student in a given graduating class. Not 100% sure on this though. Any other ideas out there?

Also got a question of my own .. If I've been made a conditional offer from cambridge and have already graduated then the conditions must surely be either (a) financial or (b) english language, right?
There are no other random and unforeseen legal tests to sit?
Great having all of us express anxieities on this post, whoever created it is a godsent :)
will be joining facebook group soon, hope to find all of u there!
