Oxford BCL and Cambridge LLM Applicants 2009

Thanks Nerx! Yea, just Oxford left.
But I'm just hoping that they don't attach any academic condition to my CLP exam! If they ask for a 1st Class....

Hey Alvin- I'd be in big trouble too if they attach such academic condition!

Many many congratulations to those whose waiting is over; for those who are still waiting, I'm very sure that the email entitled "Conditional Offer for Cambridge LLM" addressed to you are now stored in the "Drafts" folder of Suzanne's mailbox and you'll be getting it very soon!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the CLP exam?

edit: a quick google found it for me - Common Legal Practice exam! Thanks anyway!

I doubt they would attach such a condition, it would be unfair of them and shouldn't be a factor I would presume.

i'm from a small arab country in the middle east so definitely a minority. i think this probably adds weight to the theory that they somehow group applicants by country.

It seems that the majority of offers thus far have been to applicants who have graduated (and thus hold their first class degree). Do you think that observation is correct? It may be that current undergraduates have that little extra to prove to show that they will actually make the grades predicted whereas the graduates have already proved it! What do you guys think?

It seems correct (only the undergrads at Cambridge to my knowledge) but I sincerely hope this trend does not continue as I am putting the finishing touches on my degree. In the U.S. a law degree is a three year degree following a 4 year undergraduate degree. But it also seems that no U.S. or Canadian applicants have heard anything??? Coming into the process I knew I had a long wait and would likely not be considered exceptional.....but all these offers has my hopes up.

That seems to be a good thing...as they seem to be coming out in bunches from some regions.

Has any final year overseas student been lucky thus far? I was just asked to send my fall semester transcript.

Nope. A fellow third year in my course got an offer yesterday as well.

I don't really believe in the regional decision-making or announcing of offers..

Jags,
No, not yet atleast. Just waiting. Sent my fall semester transcript a couple of days back. I've not scored very high marks but I am amongst the top 3% (approx.) of my class. So lets see how they percieve it. Where are you from?

Probably means the board has looked at your application and found insufficient information to make a decision and hence asked you to supply more info to them..?

I don't know. In fact I wrote to them asking them if they needed my transcript as the resylts had been declared. They said it would be very helpful. They never asked me to submit my grades of their own accord. In fact, same was the case with Oxford. Where else have you all applied?
