Naming Erasmus in "degree level study"

Ryker

Hey everyone.

So here's my predicament. Should you or should you not name the Erasmus exchange programme in the box reserved for "degree level study", when you're applying for postgraduate study at, say, Cambridge? If you do, do you also have to send it the transcript for that, as well, even though you didn't obtain a degree there?

And one more thing. I was top 2% at my domestic faculty, however, those two exams I took while on the exchange were pretty average (15/20 in Belgium). So the results are worse than my home GPA, even when looked at from a perspective of the percentile I would fit in. I'm just really unsure of how they would look at this fact, would they think it's great that I even went abroad or would they say that when I went abroad, my results were sub-par, even though it was just 2 exams, and even though it was Erasmus?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

hi there! in my opinion the only degree you have to mention its the first one you got at your home country which is where you did most of your education.

Any other degrees or further studies just mention them but dont include them as degrees or you will have to send transcripts for that. In my case i was doing at the time i applied a degree in english with emphasis in translation and I included it as a degree and i sent the transcripts i had so far for that degree and it was actually beneficial to me! but if your grades were not that good then dont dare!

Hmm, yeah, I don't know, I was thinking of just putting it under "degree level study", but leaving the GPA space blank - would that be unwise? As for having to send in transcripts, a friend of mine didn't send his to Cambridge, and it didn't seem to be a problem, as they never asked for them. He did list his average, though, so I don't know. I guess they just trusted him on the Erasmus part.

then just mention it but leave gpa blank,,i dont think its actually that important since your main degree was finished in your home country where you got excellent grades!

I guess I'll do just that. And I know it's not of the highest importance, but I believe listing the Erasmus experience, as well, could have a positive impact, as it does show you've done something additional besides your "original" studies, and that you've garnered some international experience, as well.

Agreed; unless your Erasmus grades were bad, there is no harm including them in
