LSE Summer School 2012

How is the LSE summer school viewed? is it worth it? Is it a good program or is it just a way for LSE to make money, as it is ridiculously expensive for such a short program. Anyone going?

I thought long and hard about signing up for a summer program at LSE last summer. I wound up not going.

It seemed interesting to me and I think I would have enjoyed it a lot. On the downside, it's a rather expensive endeavour.

I am not sure that attending the summer school would strengthen your CV regarding your LLM application. These are the main issues I would suggest that you consider.

Upside:
Interesting education, improved fluency in English, you underline your motivation for further education or passion of the subject.

Downside:
Expensive. Takes up most/all of your vacation. Also, I think some schools (Cambridge was one of them, if I remember correctly) specifically ask you NOT to mention any summer programs when you list your educational experience in your application for their LLM programs.

If time and money is not a problem for you, then I think you should definitely consider attending the summer school at LSE.

These are just my five cents the subject. Good luck, whatever you decide to do!
