sorry this might not be LLM related, but i noticed LSE is providing a joint LLB/JD program with Columbia. Any info? i thought you could actually take the bar in the US with a LLB in some states, then why would you need to do a JD as well?

Columbia's website has some information about the program. Two degrees for the price of one? Respect from US lawyers (the bar doesn't confer respect) for obtaining a JD? I don't know of anyone from Columbia who has gone (most prefer the JD/LLM route), but each year there have been a few from LSE.

I think you are a bit confused, because Columbia has a LLB/JD Double Degree Programme with UCL not with LSE.

Technically, Columbia has the program with LSE, KCL, UCL and SOAS. As I understand it, historically, the benefit for JDs was that you could take classes from any of the four schools regardless of which you were enrolled at.
