LSE Applications 2021-2022

Hey guys! I got my ID on Feb 8th and I have been placed on the reserve list as apparently the programme's quota has been filled. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hey! I also got an email yesterday saying that I was going to be placed on the reserve list. I'm also an international student.

I read on last year's discussion that someone got an offer 10 days after being placed on the reserve list in April, so there is some hope!

Fingers crossed the same happens to us! Waiting until August to find out if we will be taken off the reserve list is such a long wait!

From what I understand, you may be also offered a place earlier. For example, if people start declining their offers in late April and places become available, the selectors re-consider the applicants in the reserve group and choose who to offer a place next. If anyone following this thread gets a place, please share!

Good luck! I hope the theory works for you too!
May I ask, when did you receive your ID?

Hey everyone! I applied at the end of Feb, received my ID on the 4th of March and just now an email saying I have been placed on a reserve list because the quota has been filled. Are you still completing the funding scheme even if on reserve list?

Well, you technically can, but the thing is that "In order to be considered for funding, you must have received either an unconditional or a conditional offer of a place by 29 April 2021. If you do not receive an offer of admission, the data you have submitted will be destroyed."

Hello everyone! Had applied on 17 January and received my ID ten days thereafter. My transcript dropped on 29 March and I just received my conditional offer. Had been an anxious wait but finally glad it's over. Best of luck to those awaiting results! Hopefully good news is on the way. :)

Hi! One question, did the system say you got rejected or that you were placed on a reserve list? My application system tracker has been updated stating that it has been unsuccessful, but i have not received any mail yet. Is it possible to be put in a reserve list though?

I applied on the 10th of February and I have just received a conditional offer. So there's still hope, and best of luck to those still waiting to hear back! One question, do you know whether LSE is generous with offer holders? That is, if someone doesn't meet the requirements, can they still negotiate?

They are very strict - meaning that your offer will be withdrawn if you do not meet the condition(s). Remember that there are many waitlisted and others in the reserve pool.

I know people who were admitted despite not meeting their academic offer. A friend of mine was also admitted despite not meeting the language requirement stipulated on her offer. Putting the anecdotes aside, you can also always submit a freedom of information request to see how many were admitted with grades below their offer. Postgraduate courses are typically less competitive, this combined with the uncertainty of covid would probably warrant a level of leniency. It goes without saying to not rely on their leniency and strive to meet the offer though haha.

Hey I just wanted to ask that where are we able to see our transcript dropping ? I’m an applicant of 2021 and I don’t have an LSE for you account . How do we make it or where do we get the details for it ? Please let me know . I’m also impatiently waiting for my offer . It’s been really long since I received my ID on 16th December.
