I just got a conditional offer for an llm in oil and gas law from robert Gordon University. while i intend to take up the offer, since i am actually interested in Energy law in general and i am yet to hear from dundee as regards my application for llm international commercial law, i have however still put myself up for advice on this step i am about to take. A lot of people have advised me against coming to the uk for further studies because in their opinion the uk no longer has anything to offer international students, but i contend that the uk is still cheap iin comparison to the us that everyone advises i go. what do you guys think or suggest.
Also is anybody going to aberdeen this september, have you gotten accommodation????......if i accept rgu's offer i intend to get off campus lodgings since that of the school cant fit into my tight budget.

Don't believe the rumours. There are universities in the UK offering superb LLM programmes, which bear every comparison with their US counterparts. Of course, there are also substandard programmes, which are not worth a single penny, nor a minute of your time. You will find those kind of programmes in the US as well, though.
Therefore - go for it ;-)

P.S.
I have no idea about the current after-study visa situation in the UK or the US, as this was not an issue for me.

...you're right,
you will get at least equal education for less money, so why wasting your money for overpriced US Schools.
Recently there was an article on 'The Economist' about the unjustified never ending price spiral of US Universities and their bloated administration... maybe worth reading.
