Hi! I am a chinese and I have been offered by both Queen Mary or Edinburgh Uni for LLM IP law, and I am hesitating to choose which one. I know QM is specialized in Ip law,but Edinburgh is also good in this field.Taking into consideration of living cost of two cities, I was informed London is far more expensive. Could someone give me some good advices?

Queen Mary would suit your needs best even if London is more expensive.

hi!..i am also obscuring with the same problem. I have offers from Queen Mary and Manchester university, but it has turn out to be strenuous to choose one. Queens has a good repute in IP field but it gets expensive living in London whereas Manchester U is much affordable. Really, which one to choose..plz guide!

It all comes down to your personal choices and plans for the future. Do not take the annual rankings into account that much. All the universities mentioned here are fine. Employers do not care that much whether you graduated from QM or Edi or even Manchester .... unless you come from Cambridge - Oxford or UCL the rest are what they are good universities with good reputation that will get you at exactly the same place in the work market. Personal choices regarding modules, cost of living etc are really important in any case. Choose something that will enable you to get good marks and graduate with a good LLM in the end; which means choose something that you will enjoy studying on a daily basis.

This is simply preposterous! How on earth did you get offers from QM and Edi and to study Law no less (!) without being able to communicate the simplest thing in colloquial English?

Au contraire! Shocked. I thought that competence in English was a prerequisite for non-native speakers.

Pourquoi? You'll have a full year to learn it :-)

Suppose you're right. And I fail to do so, I will apply to both QM and Edinburgh.

Amaria, Thank you very much.
Ankit_ipr, Best of luck with your decision.
Since someone will apply to QM and Edinburgh because of disdain for my competence in English, I can only say:bonne chance
BTW, using French words really make me feel so elegant:).
