Hi,

I am in the process of applying to King's...can anyone please tell me what the two separate sections viz. "Post school qualifications" and "professional qualifications" on the online application form are for?

Would appreciate the help.

Thanks and regards.

Professional qualifications are qualifications that are linked to your profession and most likely to your field of focus like certificates that are awarded by the bar for instance in tax law.

hey,
I received a conditional offer from Kings a week back. I just wanted to ask that my conditional offer also asks me to give an ielts exam for English language. Anyone of you who has a received an offer....did u also get the same conditional offer i.e. of giving the English language exam. because I have heard Kings usually grant waiver to everyone for the English language exam.

well even i have recieved a conditional offer...so have to take up ielts..i dont think we ll have a waiver in this regard...but there is this pre sessional english courses offered by them which would cost a bomb to pursue...incase we dont give ielts that is!!..btw the also ask for 7 overall, with minimum 7 in each sections..so despite of having overall 7 we wont be eligible, because of the individual sections...so have to be cautious..

yaaa but then last year all my friends got a waiver. I even mailed them to confirm but they saying that the visa rules have changed so it is mandatory to give the exam.

Hi, I have also got a conditional offer from KCL. Interestingly, the condition is that I should achieve an overall aggregate of 70% or above in my taught law modules. I have 60.20% as of now in my B.A., LLB(Hons.) degree which is a first class honors. I believe that you all are aware that it is quite difficult to score when it comes to law degrees in India. I have written to KCL in detail about the practicalities in achieving the condition. I have represented my University in a couple of winning moots and I have interned during all my semester vacations with some good names in the country. I always wanted to have a balanced profile. I have mentioned all this in message to KCL via that portal.

I have requested them to do the needful so that I would not miss this wonderful opportunity. Anybody has anything to say please?

As I am from Germany I cannot say anything about the conditions in India. But I also think it is quite strange because when you look at the official entry requirements which can be found on the futher info site of king's it says 60 % for India. I do fulfil the conditions for Germany and got an unconditional within 3 days. So maybe you should ask them referring to their official requirements.

Best regards

Thanks for the reply Sven!! Yes even I went through that entry requirement standards region wise. More since im in my final semester of B.A., LLB (Hons.), I really don't know what do they mean by "70% in all Taught Law Modules" because I finished most of the taught law modules by now. I have sent a message to them along wit my moot and internship certificates uploaded in "My Message to King's" in the online portal. Since its a weekend now probably they should reply by monday. I tried calling them but no body picked up. Guess its off there today!! Im keeping my fingers crossed!! lemme see

Hello, does any one know what is the time limit to accept the offers for the KCL LLM? I am applying to other Universities that are not as fast in responding as KCL, so I am not sure if it is better to wait so all my options come at the same time.. thanks

Hi, I have the same problem. I received a conditional offer from the KCL one week after I submitted my application. However, the conditions they require are quite disappointing: a final overall average mark of at least 85% in taught Law modules and a overall TOEFL score of 109 or above. Could someone tell me whether the KCL LLM is more prestigious than the LSE or UCL in terms of the reputation in Europe?

Hey,

the deadline is exactly 4 weeks to accept the offer but in most of the cases even after the official acceptance you can negotiate if you are offered a place somewhere else.

Hi Aster,

Congratulations!
I also managed to secure an offer for next year. Is it confirmed that you will be specializing in Intl Business Law? From what I know, they havent finalised all the subjects yet.
Also where are you from? and did you apply anywhere else?
