hi all,
I am currently looking into a LLM in International Human Rights Law starting in September 2007, having completed my LLB last summer. The institions i am currently looking at applying to are essex, galway, UCIHL and one of the london universities. Any advice of these instituions would be appreciated. i.e. any current students comments on the level of teaching, links to NGO's etc. Also is there any other places in the UK/Eire with a good reputation in international human rights that i haven't considered?
One of my main concerns is job prospects following my masters. Having limited experience in this field i am unsure of whether having the LPC would be benefical in this field, and if so would it best be taken before the LLM or after?
I live in the north east and am living at home for a year in order to fund my studies (avoid another bloody loan), so getting experience in the field isn't really an option. I would like to do an internship in the summer of 2007 but all the schemes i've looked at require that you are currently enrolled in a masters program. I am wondering if anyone know of any good intern schemes in london during the summer period.
Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated
Steve

Hi Steve,
In terms of International Human Rights Law I would look towards either the LSE or UCL - both are strong in this area. I know Essex has a good reputation in this area too.
I'm also originally from the North East and have just spent the past year doing the GDL before starting the LLM at UCL in September - so I know how hard it is for you trying to fund your studies.
