What even prompted you to ask this question; I am truly curious.
Llisbon, please enlighten me as to what reason there could possibly be for one to choose Essex over KCL?

Yep, practical reasons- unconditional offer from Essex, conditional KCL (IELTS- although i have CPE), accommodation, money... unfortunately, I have to take care about more things than rep of the uni... anyway, thanks for replies.

I understand but you can not compare KCL and Essex.
If it is not practically possible for you to go to KCL, it is a different issue

The question was posed without many details given; essentially why my curiosity was sparked. If you could attend, I believe the majority view would be to advise that you attend KCL.
I wish you the best and lots of luck!

It rather depends what your specialisation is - obviously Steve Peers and Steve Anderman at Essex are outstanding in their chosen fields, but so is for instance Richard Whish at KCL.
