I got accepted into KCL, UCL and QM for a full time 2011/2012 LLM. I decided to go with KCL as i am interested mostly in competition law (I am currently a competition lawyer).
I started to panic a bit thinking i wont manage to get through all the program without working as at this point i have covered only the tuition fees and maybe some extra for the start.
From my research i saw there are student loans only for undergrads or for residents in UK for one year at least (i am in either of these categories but i'm an EU citizen). I was counting on making a loan and now after some research im really worried.
Any ideas on loans that exist for masters? How do you intend to cover your living costs in London? Is there any possibility to get a part time job in a law firm if you have excellent previous experience as a lawyer in an EU country?
I am mostly worried that due to the crisis it will be hard to find a part time job in London even this would be hard to manage with a full time LLM.
Any suggestions on funding at this point would be great.
thanks in advance

LLM study is not all that difficult, so you can manage some part-time work.
Some banks offer professional study loans (available to postgrads) eg. HSBC. Can you not find a similar loan scheme available in your home country?

You should have in mind that it takes about 2-3 months in order to get all the permissions to start working. As far as I know classes are about 2h. a day/4 days a week so working part-time shouldn't be much of a problem.

You certainly don't need that much time to get permissions to start working in the UK if you are an EU citizen. I have a few friends who work there & it took them a few weeks.. searching for a job is however, another thing...
