Hi there!

Does anyone go to Nottingham Trent University for the LLM Europe and the Law in 2007/08?
What about European Law at Edinburgh?

Yeah, I think I will, but either next year or in 2 years. Is John Hodgson still teaching there? A good friend of mine did the European Law course (and his dissertation) under his supervision some years ago. He said he was outstanding. Especially his detailed knowledge of the different European legal systems was impressive. Edinburgh would be an option, too, but I think I don't want to hear this Scottish accent all day long :-)

I agree with Richie_85 that Edinburgh is another great choice for European law. It has the longest running dedicated Europa institute which provides excellent opportunities for students to get out of the classroom and find out what is going on with European law on the ground. There is also a very active student lead reading group in European law that brings in leaders in European law from all over.
As for the accent...you needn't consider that too much. The accents at Edinburgh you'll hear most are from the continent with the exception of the lecturers...most of whom only have the slightest Scottish lilt--very easy on the ears!
Good luck!

I made my choice and have almost done my LL.M. at Nottingham Law School - NTU. And I had (and have) a really great time here! However, I went to Edinburgh twice during my time in England and have to say that it is a really beautiful city. The Law School is also quite impressive as regards the buildings. Nevertheless, I have two friends here in my course who have done their LL.B. in Edinburgh and they definetely prefer Nottingham. I personally think it's just a matter of taste. Think both Law Schools and cities have their advantages and disadvantages. Think, when you come from the continent -like me- it doesn't matter anyway :-)
