Hello everyone:
Generally speaking, is there any differences between the US LLM and the UK LLM program?Any advantages or dis advantages between them! Could anyone give me a brief or detailed comparison or explaination. Thank you very much!!

From what I've been told by a friend who has done both a US and a UK LLM - the US LLMs do tend to be more rigorous. The obvious exception is the BCL at Oxford. The drawbacks to the US are definitely to do with cost - a year on an LLM degree could cost anything up to $50,000.

Another difference is the course format. Generally, a US course will have two semesters of 3-4 classes each whereas a UK course will have 4 classes for an entire year. Most suggest that the US classes are simply more intensive. I hope that the UK classes cover more topics.

Thanx to Jazzman and Columbiajoe!!
Yes, i did couple of reserches on the website of some UK Law schools. It seems that they have one entire semester for three or four courses aggregated to 12-14 points(credits), and yet I haven't explored the LLM program in the US, which I might do in the after days.

I think they probably do cover more topics - each of my courses has about 20 tutorials with prepared work for each. Each tutorial dealing with a different topic area. However, this is the case at UCL - I'm not sure about other UK LLMs.
