An LLM is a masters degree, same as an MA and an Msc is. An llm is a law masters while for example an msc is a masters in a science subject. So yes someone with an llm can do a phd

thank you :)

can you help me with this one as well ?

Let's assume that i've accepted to LLM program but without holding a law degree. Would there be any problem on applying for Phd in a law subject since I don't have any LLB or JD but LLM.

Thanks

First of all, I do not know of any LLM program where having a law degree is not required.

Second of all, I do not know of any Phd in Law program where having a law degree is not required

But maybe, just maybe, there could be a LLM program and Phd in law out there that do not require a law degree, although I highly doubt it.

Best,
H
