Hi there,
Laura started a similar thread a couple of weeks ago, and I thought I'd "refresh" it. So, has anyone apart from us two accepted an offer from KCL? Any current or recent students with advice on dos and don'ts (e.g. what courses are great - thanks again to Seb on EC Competition Law)?
Thanks,
Nicky

Hi Nicky!
I am not a current or recent student, but just wanted tell my decision. As I recall you are planning to specialize in IPlaw.
And you decided to go to the KCL (faculty and curricular), not to the UCL. I have chosen the UCL, probably opposite to you - for its reputation - I am from the CIS member state and recognition of the institution is generally important.
besides, I am planning to take Commercial and Trade law courses, so I think in these areas the UCL has equal strengths as the KCL.
I think your decision is correct. In case you will finance your studies with personal funds it is very important that you get all available information and knowledge from the instition for the price paid, literally speaking. And in case the KCL indeed is better than any of law schools you mentioned, you should go for it! I wish you luck!

Hi there,
I would like to apply for an LLM at King's College. I haven't logded an application form yet and would like to know if it's too late for doing so.
I thank you in advance for advising me on this point.
Géraldine

Hi géraldine,
You still have plenty of time to apply to King's. According to their website closing date is 31 July.

Thank you very much Xena,
I was just worried about a sentence written in the handbook: "first come, first served"....

Geraldine -
Just wanted to let you know that I applied to KCL early February and got admitted late March. So, it seems to take apprx. 6-8 weeks for them to make a decision, when your application is complete. I'm not sure if I will accept the offer, as I'm still waiting for an answer from LSE. However, KCL looks really good!

Dear géraldine,
I would like to confirm that it takes apprx. 8 weeks for the admission commission to make a decision. I applied in late December and received a letter from them in by the end of February. KCL is a great school (you should also check another thread on this forum about views of one of recruiters). It is true that admission is working on the rolling basis. The later you apply the less chances of offer are, and vica versa. Nevertheless, you can see that mane students drop off... some do not meet requirements of conditional offer...some do not find funds...ets. :)
So I think you should apply in any case...do not worry..no pain, no gain!
