Anyone have to send in a reference letter by mail? One of my referees had trouble with the online system (I think he couldn't get through his university's firewall) and had to mail it in. It's been a couple of weeks and KCL is still showing on their online system that they have not received the letter, but my application status is "Received and Being Processed," so I'm not sure if they received it and did not update the reference page or if it was somehow lost in the mail and will ultimately hold things up. Anyway, wondering if anyone else had to do something similar and what their experience was.
KCL Application process (Let's keep track together)

I sent one letter by post... but it was an additional letter of reference so I don't even know if they've looked at it... If I were you I'd ring the admissions office and try getting some information on your letter. If that doesn't work, maybe you could ask your referee to disclose the letter to you so that you can upload it onto the myapplication portal. It'd be much easier for everybody and that way you can ensure that you letter get sent to KCL. In fact, KCL and QM are the first big ones in England to allow the applicant to upload the letter themselves. Congratulations to them on that... it means they trust the applicant to do the right thing.

Thanks. I will probably give it another few days and then try to contact them, just to give some extra time to factor in holiday mail (which may very well be slowing everything down). It also took like a week for all of my stuff to get to Toronto, which is really not that far away from me, so I think the mail system may just be screwy at the moment...

Well, I've been refused a place at King's. I had applied mid-October.

I'm sorry about that. That sucks!
Can you tell me how and when did you get the response??

Received an email informing me that a decision had been made.
"Myapplication" status says I do not meet the requirements.
I assume I am too young.

I've just this minute called KCL. They said I can expect an answer in the new year, without exact indication of the week.
Posted Dec 18, 2009 14:03
When did you apply? I was just wondering how long it really takes because my status hasn't changed for quite a while.

Feather.
Sorry to hear that. I got that same message yesterday -- and in my case I doubt it's because I am too young. Good luck with your other applications.

@ littledoll
I've applied on 5th November. Quite a long time ago...
If in the end the answer is a positive one, than it doesn't matter how long I'm waiting... Hope so!

Hi everyone!
it's my first time writing here and I think it is really encouraging talking with people who have also applied and are in the same anxious position! :)
I submitted my online application on November 11 and of course I am still waiting!
Given the fact that I applied a little late possibly I have to wait for an answer until next year, as well!

Got a conditional offer! Applied on 22 Oct. Good luck to everyone
Posted Dec 18, 2009 17:56
Congratulations! :))) Hope that we will also hear from them soon!

Congratulations to all who have already received an offer. I am also bit anxious because I happen to apply to KCL on 18th Dec. Am i too late in submitting the applications??

I don't think it's too late. As long as you have a brightful application, they'll consider it. I have applied in th end of October but the box of Applciation Status in myApplication webpage is empty all the time, i wonder whether it's normal or not?! the application page only asked me whether a student visa was required. I have written to the Admissions Department, it just told me that the system has been experienced technical error before. So, is it everything back to normal now?!

Even I had this problem of the Application status box being empty except for the visa thing. I e-mailed them and though they did not reply back, they updated my status.

Am not sure whether my application is bright or dull :D ...but i do have all the ingredients that matches their parameters. First Class degree in law, IELTS of 8 overall, internships, only 7 months of work experience(although i believe that wont count much for an academic degree like LLM), decent SoP.
The only issue is that i applied pretty late, i.e. only in the last week.

maybe i have to check with them again.
A First Class applicant will be eye-catching enough, so don't worry! you will be in!

thnx for the moral...i sincerely hope it does happen as you say

I have known a friend who applied at March and accepted. I do not know his grades but he had five years of experience. Any way applying early increases your chances , but applying late does not mean that they will not accept you:)
