Have anybody else applied for the new LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation at Warwick University?

I have an offer from the University of Warwick and I like to accept it. I have also offers from Edinburgh, Bristol, Nottingham, Kent, Dundee and Exeter (Commercial or Corporate Law) but in my view the course in Warwick is more well designed and the response of the University was always professional and very helpful.

If there any reason why I should not chose Warwick?

hey..nice to know tht u got the offer.....even I have got the offer and there is no doubt tht Iam taking it....Well Warwick is a damn good university and very popular among the recruiters.....so far as the reasons fr nt taking it....I cant thnk of one...I had offers frm QMUL, Glasgow, City Law School bt Warwick is one of the best nd I agree in totality tht the modules they r offering are simply outstanding.....I thnk best in U.K.....hope to c u in Warwick cause Iam definitely on the plane to Warwick

Hey Luv! Thanks for reply. I am quite sure that we will see us in Warwick. I am agree that the LLM course modules are outstanding and that Warwick University has a very good reputation. Therefore I believe Warwick offers a very high teaching quality. Let it try us...

need a help!! is this course that you guys have opted for, amongst the best in the rating of courses that are offered in the UK or only in this university of Warwick. Further, Luv, i believe you are from India. Do you intend to take up employment in the UK only coz i have heard that getting a job there is not so easy!! do reply and all the best to both of you :-)

As far as I know there are no "Course Rankings" at all in UK. Furthermore the course "Int. Corp. Govern. a. Fin. Regul." starts in October for the first time. The rankings concern the University or the School of Law. You may find the current rankings here:

Hey Shikha...........The modules tht Warwick is giving are simply outstandin....This was the main reason tht i opted fr it...however i must tell u tht Warwick is a very sought after university and is widely reputed in the world..it is quite popular among recruiters in India too....it had max. no. of co. visits in U.K. last yr.....Job in U.K is nt easy bt Warwick definitely enhances ur prospects....it stands right alongwith the best (it is one of the best)..I had offers from diff. universities bt i opted fr warwick.anyways as per the new scheme after the succesful completion of the PG course we can stay bak in U.K fr an year nd then get the visa extended..job is not easy so it is in imp. tht u opt 4 an univ. which gives u an edge...frst concentrate on the studies job wil follow....if the employer likes u in an interview there is no reason y he wnt take u..thts where a gud univ. is imp. cause it grooms u.....besides warwick enjoys grt reputation all over the wrld and so even if u dnt land up with a job in U.K ( there is no reason y u cant..jst presuming)u have bright future in India ...jst go to a gud univ., study hard, choose ur modules well & job wil follow....I know its a long reply bt solely depending on the rankings is nt good..the best univer. are oxbridge, king's , lse, warwick & UCL..iam nt ranking thm bt this is where u wana go if u wana land up with job.

It seems that u have studied the modules at Warwick very well.. I have secured offer for Int. Cor. Gov and ... ., but I dont have much of a corporate background as I have studied Company Law as one of the subjects for my final year of LL.B course.. The module seems to be quite technical n tough n vast.. But looking at ur enthusiasm to study these modules., I guess its gonna be interesting!!

hey Amrita...Even i dnt hav any company backgrnd..jst studied company law in 2nd yr....am doing 2 mnths of internship bt its in the real estate dept..so iam a fresher...nice to find another fresher.....well we can discuss the modules if ur interested..will be a grt help ....apart frm the core module we hav to pik 4 more....will send u a mail today regarding wat i hav decided..bt my senior wants to help me decide..wat ever comes up..will mail u again....take care buddy

its true..but every coin has two sides...success & failure goes hand in hand.....bt my aim is to equip myself with a fair knowledge of law which will open many opportunities bak here as well..wrking there wud b grt..bt its ok even if i land up bak here...u r the best person to decide wat u want....if u wanna equip urself with specialised knowledge thn u shud opt fr it....again i believe quality education is the best investment which will definitely pay u bak.....bt everyone is entitled to their opinion i guess...

im from mumbai and im looking to do an llm next year too .... im already done with my law though so i want to gain a years exp before i culminate on which college to choose coz this probably might be the most expensive and probably one of the last schooling i ever get as far as legal education goes.... im a little confused between finance,corporate and intl business ... could one of you plz put some light on this and which one would have better prospects in india coz im not really looking to work in the uk for long... also woudlnt studyin in london be more helpful as far as job placements go and also other amenities? awaiting reply .thanks

I've also applied for the LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation at Warwick. I agree with what's been written above that the courses offered are definitely interesting.

I sent my application quite some time back but only managed to send my supporting documents today. So let's see what they decide.
