Graduate Entry LLB in UK

krh

I've recently completed two undergrad degrees in Canada and am looking at pursuing a career in the legal profession, with an emphasis on finance and energy. I've applied to a couple Graduate Entry LLB programs in the UK and would welcome any feedback on them. I've already been accepted to City University and am waiting on Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as Queen's in Belfast.
Reading a couple of other posts here I'm now a little hesitant that this maybe this isn't the best career path, particularily with regards to City University's quality of education. Any comments?

A Graduate Entry LLB is only 2 years in duration. Be advised that the NY bar exam requires 3 years. Also, in Cananda, the commitee of accreditation will require you to do more conversion exams after a 2 -year LLB than a 3 year.

If you have already graduated in something else, have you thought about taking the Graduate Diplome in Law (GDL) rather than a 2 year LLB? This is the conversion course for graduates who have not studied law at university but want to become barristers/solicitors. I know some French graduates who have taken the course but I'm afraid I don't know what is required to apply. You could try looking at some schools websites such as the college of law (www.college-of-law.co.uk), BPP law school (www.bpp.co.uk) or the University of Westminster (www.wmin.ac.uk).

Hope this helps,

Jessica
