Obviously leaning towards lse because of its rep....but at the same time dont know if its worth the stress from how expensive london is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So what would you say...Durham or Manchester??? I'm attending the LLM in Durham actually.
The place is wonderful, cheap compared to other nice places in uk. The teaching staff is great and the department has a very great reputation (Allen & Overy came here for its recruitment presentation, as well as in few other univ, namely Bristol, Oxford and the ones in London).

Good luck to everyone.

Congrats on admission. Durham has some prestige and has a well regarded law school - i'd go to Durham instead of Manchester.

wsusanw,

im doing my llm in international business law in manchester and im really excited about that. its a great place both for its univrsity envirnment and as a cosmoppolitan city, although is not as expensive and stressing as london.
durham has a slightly better reputation, was among my choices last year, but manchester has a wider range of options for pg programs and some great prof involved. so i'd say it much depends on what u want to study.
i also wouldnt be worried about the centrality of london, as we had all kinds of presentations and open days here, the school of law is highly considered among london law firms.
hope ive been of some help!

Last year I was accepted in KCL but choosed Manchester (London is too expensive) and I don't regret my choice.
FYI this year in Manchester presentation of : Herbert Smith, Allen & Overy, Baker & McKenzie, Clifford Chance, Lovells JP Morgan (if u like finance), ...
Let alone that the law fair in the University of Manchester is one of the biggest of the UK.
I think that both Durham and Manchester are excellent law school, you can't do the wrong choice.
It depends on what kind of LLM u want to do.
Also, do u prefer to spend one year in a big city (manchester) or a smaller one (durham) ?
I don't know Durham so I can't tell u if it's better to go there or not !!

Thank you so so so much for replying everyone who did!...I know...Manchester seems great..and it has so many options compared to Durham!...(I found their range quite poor....) and it seems like a reaaaaaaaaally small place...i'm at leeds at the moment..and I think I would prefer a city to a tiny town!..Also...why is it that Manchester seems better known internationally than Durham?? I thought Durham was really really good!???....Decisions decisions...extremely confused. :-(

well, id say, as far as reputation is concerned, that in uk durham has great reutation, but perhaps that is mostly due to its ug courses. pg programs are altogther exellent (got some friends wo studied there) but the choice is quite limited.
i'd tell u, unless u dont want to study those particular options, come to mancunia and u'll never regret!
i'd stay here lifelong, its an amazing place to live.
