Difference Nottingham University and Nottingham Trent University?

Hi everyone,

What's the difference between Nottingham University and Nottingham Trent University?

Which one would you prefer to go to? Which one has the highest ranking?

And how's Nottingham actually, I'm from Belgium, so I don't really know the city.

Thanks!!

its a very chilled place for students. not exactly a big city type. crime should be kinda high up on the agenda for policy makers considering car insurance rates are the highest in the country.
nottingham uni's ratings pretty good.
i would however suggest you look at other unis within its tier. have friends who dont really enjoy it there.
also depends what you wanna specialise in.

Why don't they like it there? Is it the courses, or more personal problems?

No offence to the uni, cos I think for HR, evidence or criminal justice, they have some exceptionally able academics . Paul Roberts is one I particularly admire. He is certainly placed in as much regard as Zuckerman, Ashworth.
But the reason why my mates always seem to come up to manchester to have fun is simply because according to them, the place is slightly dull. but then again cantab is not exactly better, so on this basis you should never use to judge a uni.
However, it has been coined as Rotting***, which is probably more of an emotional response than anything else.
And there are many unis at its tier that are worth looking at simply because you can have fun, and be part of a great institution as well.
I repeat myself once again, my reservations with the uni should not be used as a basis for any decision, i am simply not a part of it. Furthermore I have been so informed by this forum that Nottingham is actually reknowned for HR, with roberts, im not surprised. But I stand firm with my opinion that there are certainly other unis out there which surpass notts in many areas. Which is why for me, I have not applied there and do not intend to do so.
