Deferral at Oxford/Cambridge

seaa

Does anyone know if Oxford/Cambridge defer their BCL/LLM offer if your reason is that you have gotten into another LLM and you want to join Oxford?Cambridge after completing that LLM?

Thanks

The BCL offer says "the university does not normally consider requests for a deferral of entry...if you encounter unforeseen and unforseeable circumstances, you may submit a request for deferral of entry..."

You can try but I highly doubt that Oxford will allow a deferral so that an applicant can study at a competitor university where these are no unforessen circumstances. I can understand, for example, health issues as amounting to unforseeable circumstance.

Cambridge will not allow you to differ your offer and especially not for that reason. Getting into another law school has never been a ground for differing admission anywhere. Most universities that allow you to differ usually do so on health or financial reasons but even then the Faculty of Law at Cambridge will not differ except if you have an extremely exceptional reason.
