Does anyone know how to convert brazilian grades to the UK grading system?
I got an overall/average mark of 7.02/10 in Law School and 8.5/10 from my postgraduate/specialization program in Intellectual Property, both from top Law Schools in Brazil.
I am trying to find out where in the UK grading system (2:1, 2:2 etc) these grades stand for.
According to LSE's website, the graduate requirements for applicants from Brazil for a taught master's programmes should be at least of 8/10 - which i got from the postgraduate, but not from law school.
In addition, does your professional experience place some weight in final decisions from LSE, QMUL, King's? My academic background might be avarege , however, I have 11 years of professional experience working in my field, which is Intellectual Property (2,5 years as an intern and almost 9 years as a lawyer).
Does this improve my chances of getting into LSE, QMUL or King's?

Hi!
You should check the entry requirements in each uni’s website. UCL has a pass mark of 7.0/10.0 (2:1 UK) for Brazil while QMUL has a pass mark of 6.5/10.0 (2:2 UK - according to the website, QMUL considers 2:1 UK solely 7.5/10.0). They just take into account your bachelors and not the postgraduate programme (for the pass mark ofc).

Yes, they will consider your professional experience as part of the process, but really only if you've met their minimum academic requirements.

I just received an offer from QMUL for the LLM in Banking and Finance Law. Applied on 8th February.
I believe they considered my work experience and the ongoing postgraduate course since the minimum required is 7.5/10,0 and mines is 7.2/10,0.
I recommend to apply and see what happens. Especially QMUL that informs they might considered the work experience for 2:2.
