choosing the right place

alterego

Guys!

I am completely lost and have very little time to make a final decision! Please help me choose the right place to study because I am very much afraid of being regretful of it later on!

I have to to choose between Leeds, Cardiff, Essex, Lancaster, Aberdeen. Mainly in International commercial law.

I think the only ranking we can trust choosing the place for LLM is RAE. Cardiff was ranked 7th for law school there. But it is in Wales after all, not England. Anyway it offers the best modules for commercial law in my opinion. Then comes Leeds and Aberdeen (too far from any place including London!) I suppose. I know that Essex is the best for human rights law but that doesn't concern me. Lancaster might be the worst for LLM of the above universities.

Please advise me where it is better to go and why. Thanks a lot beforehand!

Beside the rankings you should also consider that you will have to live there for a year. Student diversity is also an issue that can be quite important.

If you are not equipped with a car - avoid the countryside and rural areas like Aberdeen - you will most likely become stuck there.
